The Official – Bishop A.T. Muzorewa Evangelism Foundation (BATMEF)

Ernest I. Muzorewa is the co-founder and chairman of the Bishop A.T. Muzorewa Evangelism Foundation (BATMEF). He is currently the principal person engaged in planning the establishment of the Evangelism Institute in Zimbabwe, a theological seminary, as a BATMEF project.

He served as a personal assistant to Bishop A.T. Muzorewa during the liberation struggle for the political independence of Zimbabwe and when Bishop Muzorewa became the first black Prime Minister of Zimbabwe-Rhodesia. Ernest is the author of the book The Missing Page in Zimbabwe’s History: A Biography of Bishop A.T. Muzorewa, published in 2024.

Ernest is a career agriculturalist who transformed Zimbabwe’s Agricultural and Rural Development Authority, a parastatal organization, having been in charge of agricultural operations for 10 years. Serves as the National Chairman of the Zimbabwe Association of Dairy Farmers (ZADF) for 3 years, promoting good dairy farming practices, and was instrumental in Zimbabwe joining the International Dairy Federation in 2023.

A Senior Lecturer and Director of Practical Training at Africa University for 24 years in the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources. He developed the Africa University Farm for teaching, research, and commercial farming activities. He was seconded to develop the university farm for the then University of Agostinho Neto at their campus in Huambo Province, Angola.

In church leadership for 8 years, Ernest was the Chairman of the Council on Finance and Administration (CONFAD) of the Zimbabwe Area Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. He later served as the finance chairperson at the district level and is currently the lay leader at Old Mutare Ehnes Memorial Church of the United Methodist Church.

Mr. E.I. Muzorewa serves as BATMEF’s Chairman.
